7-24-10 BRIDGEWATER NEW JERSEY

My girlfriend and I were coming from seeing Inception from the AMC Theaters in Bridgewater, NJ.   We were talking about dreams and aliens as we made it pass the first intersection of Commons Way and Prince Rodgers Ave. We proceeded onto Prince Rodgers ave for about one minute, when my girlfriend noticed something in the sky. She said to me “what is that”. I didn’t know what she was looking at so I said, “those are buildings”. She said to me “no not those, that thing in the sky right there.” I turned my head for a second and could not believe what I saw. As we approached the red light at the intersection of Prince Rodgers ave and North Bridge St,  I noticed an object in the sky coming from the Somerville, NJ area. This object appeared very low to the ground, I am aware normal aircraft must be approximately 6 miles above the surface to be legally in our airspace. What was even more peculiar was the object was silent. I am highly aware that planes, helicopters, and blimps produce a specific sound depending on their altitude. Now the image of this object is rather bizarre. It had a flat bottom portion that consisted of way more than 25 lights. They would flash in a specific random sequence, turn off for a second or two, turn back on and begin flashing again. They were also accompanied by a blue light on the side. It was very hard to tell the depth and true image of the top portion of the object, but it had one nonetheless. For a moment I thought maybe it was a blimp, but the speed of this object exceeded that of a blimp. As the light turned green, I made a right turn onto North Bridge Street. However, I was going in the opposite direction because I was low on gas and had to get home so I could not keep up with it. So I pulled over and made a quick stop at the nearest bank. I parked and realized we were directly below the object but it didnt stop, being underneath this thing we just gazed at its lights and their bizarre sequence as it passed overhead. Eventually it passed behind trees that blocked my sight of it and I lost the object. Me and my girlfriend both sat in shock not knowing what we just saw and realizing not a single person would believe us at all. Fear seemed to summon within me for I was afraid of what I saw and could not explain it or why I was able to see it. If someone were to approach me on the 23rd and said to me, “do you believe in aliens” I would have said not really, I mean we may not be alone but who really knows. But now, I’m pretty much a firm believer that we are not alone and that they are here with us every day hiding in plain sight. Also it was quite odd to me that on my way back home to Somerville, NJ. I just wanted to keep driving around for a bit so I went down to our Main St. and to my confusion there were a lot of cops following each other as if they were trying to find something. I eventually made a right turn onto Davenport St. and went home. For those who do not believe in UFO’s, I just want to say one thing. I once was just like you. I also want to add – The path of the object, It was coming straight then it slowed down turned alittle bit but turned back on its path. It was like watching someone not be able to make up their mind. It was weird because I know planes and helicopters all make wide turns, these turns were fairly quick.

This case is under investigation by Joe Carlin of MUFON New Jersey.

Silver Discs Over Paterson

Some people think working for Weird NJ means the paranormal just sits down in your lap and says hello. That is not the case. I have never seen a ghost. I have no scars inflicted from a Jersey Devil attack. In a long history of being exposed to so many mysterious things and accounts I have little of my own and not for the lack of putting myself out there.
But on April 25th 2008 at about 10:50 in the morning I saw my first UFO’s. I did not say I witnessed “flying saucers.” I saw two unidentified flying objects clear as day for a good two minutes or so.

Our issue comes out twice a year and on those occasions I find myself in Paterson at warehouse where I help oversee the distribution of our magazine. I was waiting on the loading dock waiting for our contact Zute to come pick up his boxes of the issue. Mark Sceurman was down in the catacombs cleaning up. Just the night before was a killer episode of Lost and, as such, I was staring up at a passenger plane flying West to East imaging the horror of what it must to have been like to be Jack or Locke when the plane went down. I know they are fictional – I can tell the difference between real and make believe. I just never knew the shock that would come over me when those lines blurred though. I had noticed the plane was flying at a relatively low altitude. Not enough that I could read the logo of the airliner but just about. Behind it in the distance were two jets, dark dots flying side by side, coming from the north towards the south in my direction. As the plane moved left to right and was about to crest part of our storage facility and go out of view. The two jets seemed to enter the same airspace of the plane – that is they appeared a little too close and about the same altitude. What happened next is when my brain sort of short circuited with adrenaline, excitement, and confusion. The “jets” stopped moving from north to south and in their side by side pattern and seemed to be hovering some three hundred yards directly behind where the plane was. There they lingered in the sky no longer black dots in the distance but much more detailed. I instantly suspected they had to be the fabled weather balloons. They were clearly metal and very shiny reflecting the bright sun as they literally spun around each other as if caught in an updraft. I was trying to determine their shape – they were wingless, dare I say it, almost saucer shape but more spherical. In excitement I tried to keep my eye on them as they danced around each other and moved to a higher altitude. I looked down only once to call Mark on the cell phone to come up as soon as possible and witness these with me. But when I looked up they were gone. Damn. I looked everywhere and pinched my eyes. I spotted them again almost double the altitude they were an instant before. They were specs now but still orbiting each other. As Zute pulled in he must have thought me rude as I waved for him to stop with my eyes trained to the sky. The specs were fading behind the wisp of scarce clouds. I looked down to yell to him to get out of the car and check these out but when I looked up again they were gone.
I have no idea what I saw. I felt like Travis Walton san probe as I excitedly told my story to Mark Sceurman when he finally came up. As I spoke to the others that would listen I realized I sounded like every farmer in a cornfield who told of something he reckoned he saw in the sky. I know, fact, that I saw what I saw. The excitement hit me that maybe many of those who claim the same also saw what they saw.
I absolutely believe, without a doubt, that we are not alone in the universe – how primitive and arrogant to think otherwise. But I won’t say these were alien ships. I reserved the idea that I saw UFO’s (again by definition) but figured I would settle that they must have been weather balloons – earlier forward momentum and other inconsistencies aside. That is until I told Mark Moran back at the office and he told me two things: one, weather balloons aren’t used anymore and, two, that the area of Paterson I was in has a long history of UFO accounts. –Ryan Doan… Special thanks to Mark at Weird NJ.com and Brent Berry Arts.com for the UFO rendering.

8-18-09………I decided to take my grandson to Atlantic City to see the annual Air Show over the board walk. We went on the day before the air show because I know that they practice the day before the event.  Since I am not a big fan of pushing crowds, we went on the clear day with no crowds at all.  Weather was perfect and we had the perfect seats at the end of the boardwalk mall that sits over the ocean.  I took my 8.1 mega pixel digital camera and got plenty of great shots of the Thunderbirds in action.  When I got home that day, we viewed the photos on my lap top and I caught a UFO in only one of the photos.  Being in the Air Force for 12 years I know the procedures for annual air shows and the airspace around the air show is considered prohibited airspace.  This means no one is allowed within a very large radius , 5 to 10 miles, to the demonstrations being performed that day.  The object cannot be another plane because of this.  It does not look like any bird that I have ever seen.  I investigate UFO sightings for MUFON in New Jersey.  I know that digital cameras have infra-red capabilities and this means digital cameras can see what the human eye cannot see. We have many cases just like this one and there is something definately in our air space that we cannot explain.    Thanks  Ken Pfeifer MUFON N.J.   http://www.worldufophotos.org
