9-5-09 ELMWOOD,  SOUTH NEW JERSEY AREA

I was driving alone from Ocean City, NJ heading west on the Atlantic City Expressway towards Philadelphia and was about 5 miles west of the Egg Harbor Toll Plaza. It was about 10:40 on the morning of Saturday, September 5 and it was a beautiful sunny day with a mostly cloudless clear blue sky. At about a 45 degree angle in the sky directly in front of me (looking west) I observed a small, flat-white object, shaped like a little tophat, appear out of nowhere in the sky. It descended in an erractic flight pattern for a couple of seconds then disappeared. A couple seconds later, it reappeared as before, descended in the sky in the same erractic manner for a couple seconds, then disappeared for good. I watched the local news that evening to see if there was any coverage of strange UFO-like sightings, but there was none. I tried to contact the astronomer at the Franklin Institute to discuss with him, but couldn’t find a listing of his email address. I told my wife of this event and she later happened upon your website from something she had seen in the paper about an upcoming convention. What did I think the object was when I first noticed it? I don’t know, but I sure couldn’t identify it. I had seen something like this about 40 years ago when I was about 13 or 14.

This case was investigated by our N.J. MUFON investigator Joe Di Eduardo.  Object was classified as an unknown.

I went to Pennsylvania for a weekend vacation. When we were driving back, we took the Ben Franklin Bridge back into NJ. As we were on it, I noticed off to my right there was a stationary object above the water about a mile from my location. The object was also sort of hazy. As a bridge support went by my vision, the object was gone from the area that I originally viewed it. I then saw it approx. 2 miles to the east a second or two later. It once again was stationary. It was in the same position in the air and strangely did not increase or decrease in size even though my distance from it changed. While moving down the highway, it was obscured by trees for a couple seconds, then it was gone when I was able to see it’s location again. I looked all around the area however could not get any other location on it. I remember thinking to tell the other four people in the car with me but for some reason, I didn’t tell anyone about it until later that night. The entire event may have lasted about 10 seconds from start to finish. The object could have been easily seen by anyone in the area due to its location was in a wide open area of the sky over the water. This object should have been recorded on the radar of the Philadelphia Airport. It was well within reach and the area of that airport. Judging by my memory of its location, it was probably closer to the Walt Whitman Bridge than the Ben Franklin Bridge. Even if I was mistaken on this object and it was a plane, the shape was close to a proper “L” shape and to relocate to its second location, the “plane” would have had to be flying backwards. Not possible. This event took place on 04/11/2010 at approx. 3:30 to 4:00 pm est.

ATLANTIC CITY — I was heading west on the Atlantic City Expressway on September 5, 2009, at 10:40 AM, five miles west of the Egg Harbor Toll Plaza when I observed a small, flat-white object, shaped like a little top hat.

It descended in an erratic flight pattern for a couple of seconds then disappeared. A couple seconds later, it reappeared as before, descended in the sky in the same erratic manner for a couple seconds, then disappeared for good. I watched the news for UFO sightings, but there was none.  I sure couldn’t identify it.

TOMS RIVER — I saw some cool looking clouds from a storm front on September 28, 2009, at 6:18 PM, so I got out my Olympus camera and took some pictures and video. When I looked at them on the computer, I saw what looks like a flying saucer in one of the pictures and a fast moving object in the video. There appears to be several white spots under the photo with maybe a funnel like affect. The video could be a bird, but it would have to be dive bombing really fast down from the clouds. HIGHLANDS  — We saw the triangle on Saturday night, September 19, 2009, at 11:30 PM, that hovered for about three minutes and lit up brighter than any light my friend Frank had ever seen. He said, “It emitted a light beam that lit up the ocean, and let out a cloud of smoke then disappeared. It did not take off, but just disappeared.”
Note: Several sightings occurred in the area earlier on September 19 (around 8 PM). These sightings were primarily due to the launch of a NASA rocket from Virginia. This sighting is not related to the rocket launch and is unidentified.
